About SirsiDynix e-Library

SirsiDynix e-Library is a library searching product that helps patrons find library resources quickly and easily within an electronic catalog.

To determine what environment is being used while in e-Library, you may view the page source. (In Mozilla Firefox, choose View, then Page Source. In Internet Explorer, choose View, then Source). The environment policy name and number will be listed near the top in a comment; for example:

<!-- environment: LAW, station's ENVN policy number: 1 -->

You can also see the version information for the server beneath the environment. For example:

<!-- Server version: 3.4.0.0310 -->

E-Library has two parts: a Searching interface where patrons search for library items and an administration tool (called the “Admin console”) to configure and customize the Searching interface.

When patrons search using SirsiDynix e-Library, they search library data that has been indexed for searching purposes.

The Admin console allows you to set up and configure one or more Searching environments. (For example, if you have three different library branches and you want to set up a distinct Searching environment for each branch, you can define and configure each profile using the Admin console.) You can customize how a Searching environment displays, whether to display third-party content, and other settings.
