Detailed Display lists variables that affect whether you may place holds from the display of an individual holding, whether policy names or descriptions will display, or whether a summarized description of holdings will display.

Environment

Specifies the environment level at which to apply settings.

Detailed Display Variable List

Displays a list of the variables you can change for the Detailed Display section.

The list displays this information:

Option	Description
Variable	Displays the name of the variable. Hover your mouse cursor over the variable name to see a tool tip with more information about the field.
Value	Specifies the value to use for the variable. This option is only enabled when Use Base is not checked. Depending on the type of variable, you can select Yes or No for the value, enter text, or select an option from a list.
Use Base	Specifies whether to use the displayed Base Value for the variable in the specified Environment.
Base Value	Displays the default value used for the variable at the selected Environment level.

Use Item Location Desc

This variable determines whether the item’s location policy name or location policy description displays. If set to Yes, the location policy description will show. If set to No, the location policy name will show.

Use Item Library Desc

This variable determines whether the item’s library policy name or library policy description displays. If set to Yes, the library policy description will show. If set to No, the library policy name will show.

Use Hold Icon

This variable determines whether a Place Hold option shows in the detailed description of an item.

Summary Holdings

This variable determines whether summarized holdings should display rather than an individual copy list.

Allow Hold on Open Orders

This variable determines whether holds may be placed on copies that are on order.

Hold Items on Shelf

This variable determines whether holds may be placed on items that are currently on the shelf. Select Yes if holds may be placed on items on the shelf. Select No if holds may only be placed if no copies are available.

Save

Specifies to save all changes made.

Note: You do not need to save changes to each page. This button saves the settings made to all pages of the Admin console.
